Horsemen

Real horsemen are a dying breed. When I was young, the horsemen I was fortunate to learn from always had really nice horses. What made their horses so nice? They were well minded. What I admired most about my mentors were they didn’t have to make excuses for their horses- Which was momentous to me because growing up I thought horses just acted certain ways, and you had just had to get around them the best you could. That is the furthest thing from the truth. I want people to understand just how nice a horse can be that is mindfully well-trained. I explain it to people this way, if you only ever ate roots you’re whole life, then someone puts a spoonful of sugar in your mouth, it would blow your mind because you had no idea something could be so good. That is absolutely true with horses, but it requires honoring horsemanship, which is what a true horseman does.
