An Effective Correction

Keep in mind, horses don’t know right from wrong or good from bad behavior, they only know what they’re allowed to get away with. That’s why I have a saying that people don’t have horse problems, horses have people problems. When a horse nips or bites, most people react by smacking the horse on the nose or neck and then it turns into a game, coupled with other problem behavior. The best correction is to gain control of the horse’s feet by moving them forwards, backwards, left and right, and being willing to reward the slightest try. By doing so, you’ll be amazed how other seemingly different problems disappear.
